Privacy Policy

Short version. RAPlan does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. It works entirely on your iPhone. No accounts. No advertising. No third-party SDKs. Your income, loan balance, dependents and saved scenarios never leave your device. The only thing the app ever sends is an anonymous, aggregate count of which screen led to the Pro page and whether a purchase attempt completed — no figures, no identifiers, nothing tied to you. You can switch that off in the app under About.

2. What data we do not collect
We want to be very explicit. RAPlan does not collect any of the following:
- Your name, email, phone number, or any contact information
- Your loan balance, AGI, dependents, interest rate, or any financial figures you enter
- Your saved scenarios or recertification reminder dates
- Your device identifiers, advertising ID, or location
- Crash reports, behavioral profiles, or any usage data tied to you as a person
- Cookies, tracking pixels, or advertising identifiers
RAPlan contains no third-party SDKs for analytics, advertising, attribution, or social sharing.
The one exception: anonymous screen counts
To find out where people give up before reaching the Pro page, the app sends a small, anonymous event to GoatCounter, a privacy-focused analytics service. There is no SDK involved — the app makes a plain HTTPS request containing a single event name, for example raplan-paywall-shown-calculator or raplan-paywall-purchase-cancelled-scenarios.
That event name is the entire payload. It tells us which screen the Pro page was opened from, whether the upgrade button was tapped, and whether a purchase attempt completed, was cancelled or failed. It contains no account, no device or advertising identifier, no cookie, and none of the figures you enter — no income, no loan balance, no dependents, no scenarios. Individual events cannot be linked to each other or to you, so we cannot reconstruct a user's path or recognise a returning user.
As with any request over the internet, the receiving server necessarily sees the originating IP address in transit. We neither store it nor have access to it, and it is not used to identify you.
You can turn this off entirely. Open RAPlan, go to About and switch off “Anonymous usage statistics”. The app then sends nothing at all.
This website. The pages on raplan.nort.de use the same service to count page views. No cookies are set, and no profile is built across visits. Counting uses requests to nort.goatcounter.com without reading or writing device information; no external counting script is loaded. If you prefer not to be counted, a content blocker can block these requests.
3. Data processed locally on your device
The following information stays on your device and is never transmitted:
- Your inputs (AGI, dependents, loan balance, interest rate, tax rate) — used only to compute the on-screen result, then discarded when you close or change the screen.
- Saved scenarios (Pro feature) — stored in Apple's on-device SwiftData database. Deleted when you delete the scenario or uninstall the app.
- Pro-status flag (a single boolean) — stored in iOS UserDefaults so the app knows you've purchased Pro between launches.
- Recertification reminder date (Pro feature) — stored in iOS Local Notifications. Never sent to any server.
If you uninstall the app, all of this data is deleted by iOS.
4. Apple services we rely on
RAPlan uses the following Apple-provided services. These are governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not ours.
StoreKit (in-app purchase)
When you purchase RAPlan Pro, the transaction is processed by Apple via StoreKit. We never see your payment details, Apple ID, or billing address. We only receive a confirmation that the purchase succeeded for the current Apple ID. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
Local Notifications
If you enable the annual recertification reminder (Pro), RAPlan schedules an iOS Local Notification on your device. No remote push server is involved. We do not have a push-notification backend.
5. No tracking
RAPlan does not implement Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework because there is nothing to track. We will never display the "Allow Tracking" prompt.
6. Children's privacy
RAPlan is rated 4+ in the App Store. The app does not collect personal data from any user, including children — the only thing it ever sends is the anonymous screen count described in section 2, which contains no personal data and can be switched off under About. 7. Your rights under GDPR & CCPA
Because we collect no personal data, the typical rights to access, correction, deletion, and portability under the GDPR (EU/EEA), CCPA (California), and similar regulations have nothing to apply to. There is no personal data on our side to request, correct, or delete — the anonymous screen counts described in section 2 cannot be traced back to any individual, so there is no record of “yours” to retrieve or erase.
The right to object is the one you can exercise directly: switch off “Anonymous usage statistics” under About in the app, and it stops sending immediately. We do not sell or share data, because there is none to sell or share.
If you want to delete the data stored locally on your device, simply uninstall RAPlan.
8. Changes to this policy
If we ever change how the app handles data, we will update this page and increase the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be communicated in the App Store release notes.
